Facing our Fears: Discovering the “Earthiness” of Inversions Friday, May 21st; 6-8pm; $30
Patanjali tells us in Yoga Sutra II.46 “sthira sukham asanam”: posture should be firm (stable) and comfortable. Inversions are a family of poses that can bring out the klesha (cause of suffering) of abinivesha (fear), as they require our hands, forearms, head and shoulders to support the weight of our body. When the fear klesha dominates, we have lost our connection to the foundation, or base of our pose. Come explore how the firmness of the earth element in your inversions transforms your relationship to these (literally) uplifting poses!
